80eight ranked second among free apps in the Finance category of the Apple App Store in South Africa on 21 September 2026, placing it above Capitec Bank and FNB and behind only GoTyme Bank.
The climb followed 80eight's giveaway partnership with The Dream Boys, the South African content duo, which opened on 18 September and drove a wave of new sign-ups to the app.

What 80eight offers
80eight is licensed by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA), FSP 49010. Its app combines a digital wallet, 88Pay payments to a phone number, email address or PayID, crypto products including AutoStack recurring purchases, and treasury outsourcing services for businesses.
